Living with joint pain can make even simple movements feel difficult—walking, climbing stairs, typing, or getting out of bed. At Saankhya Ayurvedam, our Joint Pain & Arthritis Care focuses on reducing discomfort, improving flexibility, and supporting long-term joint strength through a personalized Ayurvedic plan. Rather than chasing temporary relief, Ayurveda looks at why joints become stiff, dry, swollen, or painful—often linked to Vata imbalance, inflammation, poor digestion, and toxin buildup (Ama).

Common concerns we support

  • Knee pain, shoulder stiffness, neck/hip discomfort
  • Osteoarthritis-like wear and tear, age-related stiffness
  • Swelling, heaviness, morning stiffness, reduced range of motion

Ayurvedic approach

Our care typically begins with understanding your prakriti (constitution) and vikriti (current imbalance). Joint issues often worsen with cold exposure, irregular routines, poor sleep, stress, and dry/light foods that aggravate Vata. We aim to calm aggravated doshas, improve digestion, reduce Ama, and nourish joints.

Therapies & care plan (as suitable)

  • Abhyanga (medicated oil massage) to lubricate tissues and calm Vata
  • Swedana (therapeutic steam/fomentation) to ease stiffness and improve circulation
  • Localized therapies such as Janu Basti/Kati Basti (oil pooling for knees/lower back)
  • Panchakarma support, especially Basti therapy when Vata is dominant (only under supervision)
  • Ayurvedic herbal support may be recommended based on your needs

Lifestyle guidance

We encourage warm, cooked meals, gentle movement, joint-friendly yoga, adequate hydration, and routines that stabilize Vata (sleep on time, avoid long gaps between meals). Small daily habits—like warm water, mild stretching, and oil application—often make a big difference over time.

Note: If joint pain is sudden, severe, following injury, or accompanied by fever/rapid swelling, seek medical evaluation promptly.
