Panchakarma

Home » Panchakarma

Panchakarma is Ayurveda’s signature purification and rejuvenation program designed to cleanse the body’s channels, balance doshas, and restore vitality. It is not a quick detox—it is a structured, personalized process that includes preparation, elimination therapies, and recovery. At Saankhya Ayurvedam, Panchakarma is planned carefully based on your constitution, current imbalance, digestion strength, and seasonal suitability.

Panchakarma is often recommended for those experiencing chronic fatigue, recurring digestive issues, stress accumulation, skin concerns, hormonal imbalance patterns, or long-standing Kapha/Vata/Pitta aggravation. The aim is to reduce deep-rooted toxins (ama), support digestive fire (agni), and help the body return to a stable, resilient state.

Typical phases of Panchakarma:

  1. Purva Karma (Preparation):
Includes therapies like Abhyanga and Swedana, dietary adjustments, and internal oleation (as advised) to loosen toxins.
  2. Pradhana Karma (Main Therapies):
One or more of the core therapies may be chosen—Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, or Raktamokshana (as applicable and available).
  3. Paschat Karma (Recovery & Rejuvenation):
A guided diet and routine plan helps rebuild strength, stabilize digestion, and maintain results.

Key outcomes people seek:

  • Improved digestion and reduced bloating/heaviness
  • Better energy and mental clarity
  • Support for immunity and seasonal balance
  • Healthier skin and reduced inflammatory patterns
  • A more stable routine, sleep cycle, and mood

Important note: Panchakarma should always be done under professional supervision. It is highly individualized, and results depend on correct planning and proper post-therapy care.
